What: Smallbore rifle marksmanship training. We are oriented towards the novice, but can also teach up to introductory competitive level in NRA or Olympic smallbore or light rifle styles. Class will include safety measures and can include procedures such as rifle tear down and maintenance.

What: Smallbore and air rifle marksmanship training for juniors aged 8-18. We are oriented towards the novice, but can also teach up to competition level in NRA or Olympic smallbore or air rifle styles. Shooters begin prone with support, and continue to sling usage and other positions as progress warrants. We shoot the NRA 3-position qualification programs to track progress. We are partnered with the Treasure Valley 4-H programs, but 4-H membership is optional for NRAGC families.

Where: Location depends on discipline and season, contact instructors.

When: Monday 6:00 to 9:00 or sunset for small bore; Thursdays 6:00-9:00 for air rifle / pistol. Small bore year round; air rifle September through June.

Who: Juniors 8-18. Youth must be accompanied by a responsible adult (parent or other with medical and other permissions.) Participation is subject to the approval of the instructors.

Costs: $5/session if we provide the ammo; $0 otherwise.

Equipment: Any safe rimfire or air rifle, any action type, any sights (but peep sights preferred). Air rifle limited to .177 or .22 calibre. Loaner rifles are available.

Ammunition: Included in cost for youth or BYO. High velocity loads (1300+ fps) are not appropriate for the indoor range. No centerfire.

All shooters begin prone with support, and progress to sling usage and other positions as progress warrants.  We shoot the Winchester/NRA Light Rifle qualification program to track progress.

Where: At the Nampa Rod and Gun Club Indoor range, 222 Railroad Ave., Nampa, ID.

When: 6:30 PM, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Mondays.  Regularly during the school year, by arrangement during summer months.

Who: Both youth (17 and under) and adults are welcome, but youth will get priority if there is a shortage of firing positions or equipment. Youth must be accompanied by a responsible adult (parent or other with medical and other permissions.) Participation is subject to the approval of the instructors.

Costs: $2/session for youth 17 and under, includes ammo. $5 per session for adults, BYO ammo.

Equipment: Any safe rimfire rifle, any action type, any sights. However, loads more powerful than 22LR are not allowed on the indoor range. Loaner rifles in youth and adult sizes are available.

Ammunition: Included in cost for youth, BYO for adults. High velocity loads (1300+ fps) are not appropriate for the indoor range.  No centerfire.
