The outdoor range continues to fight encroachment from development in close proximity. In November, members of the club went before the Planning and Zoning Commission. We were successful in having a large development directly west of the outdoor range denied.

This proposed development was more than 200 homes. In December, a few of the members testified before Jerome Mapp, Hearing Officer for Canyon County Planning and Zoning. This hearing was for a 14 house development north of the rifle range, which Mr. Mapp approved.

The Nampa Rod & Gun Club has filed an appeal of this decision. We have not yet been notified of the hearing date before the County Commissioners. We will keep you posted. We need members to attend the hearing and sign in as opposing the development. We will need members who are willing to testify at the hearing. We need your help.

The Board of Directors has a planning session for this hearing every month at their meeting (third Tuesday at 7:30p.m. at the indoor range). All members are invited and encouraged to attend these meetings.
